Marion Cotillard gives birth to a child

The Oscar winner in 2008 for La Vie en Rose which gave life to Edif Piaf, Marion Cotillard has given birth to a child. It is the first child for Paris and her partner, the director and French actor Guillaume Canet. The child's name is Marcel and was born on Thursday night in Paris, as confirmed by People.

"Mother and baby are doing well," said a source adding that the actress, 35, is very happy. Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet, 38, worked together for the first time in 2003 in the film Love me if you dare and began dating in 2007. The career of an actress in Hollywood is on a roll, having participated in origin, with Leonardo DiCaprio and now will star in the next installment deBatman with Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale to be called The Dark Knight Rises.

Though the actress wears a diamond solitaire on her left hand, a source told People that they had no plan to marry in January when announcing the pregnancy. The pair have worked together in the film, Little White Lies, directed by Guillaume Canet. In addition, Cotillard is part of the cast of Woody Allen's latest film, Midnight in Paris which was presented in this International Film Festival Cannes, France event that, for obvious reasons, could not attend as he did not Carla Bruni is pregnant.
