Shakira meets always present to help others ... The Colombian singer visited last Thursday (March 31) in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The young woman had visited the school including Elie Dubois, one of the oldest on the island built, which was devastated by the terrible earthquake in January 2010. Shakira has donated 400,000 dollars to rebuild two buildings damaged.

The 34 year old singer has signed an agreement with the Interamerican Development Bank which will provide the same amount for the reconstruction of the school Elie Dubois. "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to achieving your dream," she has addressed, in French, students and school staff.

"We must seize the opportunity of education," added the star before dancing with the students present on the pace of his famous hit "Waka Waka". Work will be performed by the Architecture and NGOs should be completed no later than 14 months. The school Elie Dubois is a girls' school built in 1913 in the Haitian capital.

This school is run by nuns. The director of the IDB (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno thanked the singer who has volunteered to support education in Haiti.
