Arnold Schwarzenegger: Terminator to Governator

After eight years at the helm of the State of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his roots of superheroes, but this time, in the guise of an animated character. The former Terminator was in Cannes on Monday to introduce its new animated series Governator, under the MIP (Marché international programs).

Inspired by the life of Schwarzenegger as governor, and a clear nod to the Terminator films, Governator tells the story of a politician, apparently normal, who is retiring to devote himself to his family. But while the crime rate increases, he returns as a superhero: Governator! A bit of an analogy of the life of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who after a political career, is back in show biz.

The series, which will appear in comics, video games and even movie was created by American writer Stan Lee, whose credits include Spider Man and X-Men. Chevalier of the Legion of HonneurArnold Schwarzenegger also used his visit to the Croisette to receive from the hands of Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterrand Legion of Honor.

A distinction due to his title of "Mr. Universe," joked the Minister, but also and especially through its "activities as an artist and governor of California." "Thanks to Cannes that I could become a star," said Arnold Schwarzenegger after being made a Knight of the Legion of Honor. "I was there in 1977, and while everyone thought that I had a body too hefty, too strong an accent and a name too hard to pronounce, here we have believed in me." Winning bet for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He had said he would!
