Yamato, the drummers of Japan: the rise of an amazing show

There are ten on stage and transmit an impressive energy. Armed with these drums that can weigh up to 400 kilos, they engage in a choreographed show of percussion and call for an ancestral tradition of modernity while retaining their performance. The drums of Japan, Yamato is the troupe, a group that has existed for a decade and which originally consisted of four members.

It was after a performance of a week in a Japanese festival, the troupe is invited worldwide for memorable performances, acclaimed by the international press. Through 27 countries, Yamato occurs on more than 200 shows per year at an ever more impressed by their performance. True success story, the troupe now has 2000 performances, making the West the heart of Japanese culture.

Mixture of tradition and modernity, the troupe seeks a pop musicality and contemporary dance choreography while bathed in an atmosphere of sacred reality. Led by Masa Ogawa, the percussionists live cultures Buddhist and Shinto, tending towards the unity of man and the divine, to the purification of the soul worn by the daily.

Yamato, with over 2000 performances to his credit, will be in Paris for 14 performances at the Casino de Paris. A rare sight, note!
