Listen to the song that will represent France at Eurovision

May 14 in Düsseldorf, Germany, Eurovision 2011. This year, the young tenor Amaury Vasily was chosen to represent France. 21 years old, the young man perform a song in Corsica, entitled "Sognu" (read "The Dream"). Written by composer Jean-Pierre Corsican Marcellesi with a melody composed by Daniel Moyne and Quentin Bachelet, the title is totally original and not on any album Amaury Vassili.

If choosing a regional language to represent the Hexagon is clearly a gamble, it is not really surprising when you know it comes from France 3, which will broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest. "France 3 television channel regions. We wanted to highlight them." explained the program director of France 3, Pierre Sled, following the appointment of Vasily Amalric, last month.

"And as the Corsican is closer to Italian, it should be very good for singing opera," he continued, adding that the young man "best represents excellence of French music." It will take two months to see if the European public will agree with this choice. Amaury Vasily succeed there to break the curse in French Eurovision, while our beautiful country has not won the competition since 1977? To get an idea, listen now an excerpt from "Sognu" Amaury Vassily, what our colleagues unearthed from Télé-Loisirs.
