Born This Way: The new song by Lady Gaga breaks all records

Plagiarism or not, a week after its release, "Born This Way" is a worldwide success. While Lady Gaga is accused of having (too) heavily inspired by Madonna in her new song (see news), this did not prevent the title to make waves in the standings and on platforms download worldwide. Multi-radio broadcast, "Born This Way" was hoisted directly to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, ranking weekly singles sales in the United States.

The title has become the 19th song in the history of classification for direct entry to the first-place effort and has the luxury of being the 1000th number one story of the Hot 100, since its inception in 1958. But Lady Gaga, who made a guest appearance at the Grammy Awards last Sunday arrived encased in a giant egg, did not stop there.

On Friday, Apple announced that "Born This Way" was officially changed to have the single fastest-selling on iTunes, the platform for downloading the Apple brand and incidentally the first online music store in the world . In just five days, over one million downloads of "Born This Way" were recorded.

U.S. to Europe, via Australia, the single was number one in 23 countries. Asked by Billboard about this unprecedented success, Lady Gaga did not hide his enthusiasm. "I am extremely honored for the warm welcome that has been done to 'Born This Way,' I was not expecting it," said the singer.

"That changed my life and I very fortunate to have fans that I have," she added, before concluding, as a peak made to those who accuse him of plagiarism: "I knew that the song was special when I wrote it. "
