Ed Westwick wants to leave "Gossip Girl"

It is the obsession of all stakeholders revealed in a successful series: they can not get rid of their character. And some prefer to leave the ship before it's too late, like for example, Katherine Heigl, who left his white coat of Grey's Anatomy to the locker room to devote himself to cinema. Latest victim of this "crisis identidentiraire" Ed Westwick, the beautiful and sulfur Chuck Bass of Gossip Girl.

Asked about his career in the British magazine Tatler, he made the cover this month, the actor claims to be tired of her role as lady-killer in the series that made him famous. "Everything is a matter of work, this feeling that motivates you when you boss," says Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass in four years.

"At first, this is what I felt the character fascinated me. But now, to be completely honest, I'm ready to move on. Really." And it is understandable that his latest project has given the desire to move towards new horizons. The actor has indeed recently signed to play opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming Clint Eastwood movie about the life of J.

Edgar Hoover. Far from the superficiality of the Upper East Side! Ed Westwick is not the first actor from Gossip Girl to want to distance itself from the series. Leighton Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf, has also recently indicated that it would leave the series in two years, once his contract expires.

Provided, of course, that Gossip Girldure another two years, which, in view of declining audiences for the series on American network CW, is far from being granted.
