The series NCIS Renewed for Season 9

Agent Gibbs remains at his post. The CBS has officially renewed its hit series NCIS for a ninth season after his main actor Mark Harmon had signed a new two-year contract, the site reveals Deadline. Under the new contract, Mark Harmon will affect more than 500,000 dollars per episode from the next season and grow from mere producer of the series to an executive producer.

Moreover, the actor is committed to working with CBS to develop new programs through her production company Wings Prod. Note that other key players NCIS, namely Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray and David McCallum were all rehired with the series last summer. NCIS is ensured to remain on air until at least May 2012.

The renewal comes as NCIS Season 8 episode aired Tuesday night in the U.S. broke the historical record audience of the series, collecting 22.85 million viewers. What good news!
